I am so excited to attend the Valdez Quilt Festival this week. And not only attend, but be teaching a class there! How cool is that?! I will be teaching my It’s A Wrap class. There are currently 8 women signed up for the class. I will see if I can post some pictures of the finished skirts.
I traveled to Valdez many times when we lived in Glennallen, Alaska. It was about a 2 hour trip then ~ we went occasionally with friends or for orthodontist visits. Yes, a two hour drive to the orthodontist! It was shorter than the 4 hour trip to Anchorage. But I never had a chance to go to the quilt festival. I am also going to take a class taught by Linda Ballard ~ Cathedral Square. It is always fun to learn new skills from a different teacher. Here’s a picture of Linda’s quilt. I’ll show you my finished quilt someday!
Linda Ballard has been sewing all her life and keeps a busy calendar of teaching at retreats. She will be one of the teachers on an upcoming cruise through the Panama Canal later this month. How fun would that be?!
Have you been to a quilting retreat lately? What did you most enjoy about it?
I’m sure it is still warmer in many places than is was this morning in Anchorage ~ fall is definitely in the air here!
