I know its warm and sunny outside and that makes it hard to think about cold weather and winter. Who even wants to think about cold weather and winter on a bright sunny, warm summer day!
But this might just be a great time to get that insulated Snow Skirt made so you are ready for the cold temperatures and winter when they come around again!
Make sure you sign up for the free resource list too – that way you will know where you can get some of the supplies if your local fabric shop doesn’t carry them. I give you lots of choices so you can take a look and find one that works best for you.
I usually teach at least one Snow Skirt class in the summer months at Seams Like Home, where I work. Many women have said that they appreciate being able to take one day in the summer and get their skirt made so they can be ready to wear it when the temperatures start to drop. It never hurts to be prepared! If you live in the Anchorage area, I will be teaching one of those One-Day-Get-It-Done classes in July. Check the Seams Like Home website to find out about classes.
Those who live outside of Alaska can certainly be cold too! In fact last winter sometimes your temperatures were colder than ours. Crazy, huh?! You don’t even need lots of snow to benefit from wearing a snow skirt:
~ cold and windy days waiting for the bus or train could be less miserable
~ watching your son or daughter play hockey or compete in a cross-country skiing event could actually be fun
~ continuing your daily walking routine could be possible on a cold day
If you can’t come and take a class in person when I am teaching, would you be interested in taking a online class with me? I have been learning a lot about online courses and would love to offer a way for others to learn to make their own snow skirts. There are lots of ways to learn and sitting in a classroom is just one way.
- A video class would give you the option of doing the sewing at a time and place that is convenient for you.
- Signing up for a class that included the pattern, handouts and videos would allow you to review steps of the construction – over and over again. As many times as you want.
- Once you took the class and made your first skirt, you could make more for friends and family. They will ask – believe me!

I promise to read every comment and respond to any questions you might have.
Remember ~ that discount code is only good until June 30! Even if you are going to make your skirt later, this would be a good time to get the pattern!
