This past weekend I taught a Snow Skirt class at Seams Like Home in Anchorage. I had eight women attend the class – one even flew down from Fairbanks! I have gotten brave enough to allow students to choose the style of skirt they want to create. I had three women make the original Snow Skirt with two way zipper on the side. One woman made the SnoMotion skirt in a very cute hot pink. And four women made the It’s A Wrap style. Some of the techniques are quite different and some are similar, but everyone was patient and so creative! I even had a mother daughter team this time – I think they had a great time sewing together!
I’ve included a few photos from the class so you can actually see me teaching!
I have also finished a FREE course that covers some of the sewing skills that I think are important for successful Snow Skirt creation! I have been working on this for some time. It was a way to learn how to create course materials and recording videos and share some information. I am hoping that I might eventually be able to create a full step-by-step Snow Skirt Course. But you have to start somewhere, right?!
